Writing for life
I've been writing most of my life. My first book, which was completed at age 10 and was - um - derivative, and featured a cowardly lion and a scarecrow. The second significant piece of writing I did was in a high school English class, when we were told to describe something. I had just finished The Count of Monte Cristo, so I wrote a wildly florid and emotional essay describing how it felt to be in prison. When that was finished I sat back and said to myself, "Self," I said, "you can write."
And I've never stopped.
