Short-story writing is an elegant and difficult art. Toward the end of the True magazines, I was privileged to publish some modest stories about love and loss, tragedy, and romance, for several of their magazines.* On the Books page, you'll also find an anthology of mysteries for which I wrote four short stories, H2O Mysteries.
*Disclaimer: My True magazine stories weren't always absolutely 'true,' but all of them had at least an element of truth. For instance, "My Career as a Thief" was inspired by a former co-worker who had a teenage career as a shoplifter with her best friend as accomplice. "Steve's Angel" was a story I heard at a motorcycle rally. Steve swore every word was true . . .
